The Skin of Things 2 is the virtual edition and follow-up conference to https://theskinofthings.github.io/ that took place at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam in 2019. Organized by the Technical University Delft and the University of Utrecht, TSOT is a multidisciplinary gathering centered around the perception and depiction of materials in art and visual culture. The list of speakers includes artists, art producers, museum curators, and scholars from science of perception, cognition, computer science, art history, conservation science - in short a diverse group that you rarely meet in one (virtual) room. Therefore, we happily invite you to join the talks and discussions over a series of 5 evenings/nights (Asia/Oceania), afternoons (Europe/Africa) and mornings (Americas).

Registration
Registration is free of charge and can be done via EventBrite (on the website: https://theskinofthings2021.github.io/). After you registered you will receive access to a Slack channel that we will use to communicate Zoom links etc.

Programme
Each day between 15 to 19 March we will have meetings between 15:00 and 18:00 Central European Time (CET). As Daylight Saving Time in the US starts a week earlier than in Europe, there will be a time difference of 5 (east coast) to 7 hours (west coast).
