JOURNAL OF MODERN CRAFT

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Journal of Modern Craft, now entering its second year of
publication,
invites submissions for future issues.

The triannual Journal of Modern Craft is the first peer-reviewed
academic
publication to provide an interdisciplinary and international forum in
its
subject area. It addresses all forms of making that self-consciously set
themselves apart from mass production
whether in the making of designed
objects, artworks, buildings, digital constructs, or other artefacts.

The editors invite contributors to submit research articles looking at
craft
in all its historical manifestations, from the mid-nineteenth-century
to the
present. The Journal analyses the relevance of craft within numerous
contexts:

-new media
-architecture
-design
-contemporary art
-studio production

Of particular interest are articles drawing on disciplines such as art
history, anthropology, political history, and philosophy; and studies of
modern craft outside of Europe and America.

The Journal of Modern Craft is the main scholarly voice on the subject
of
craft, conceived both as an idea and as a field of practice in its own
right.
