Call for Papers
Buildings and Cities in Early Modern Italy
Session at the Renaissance Society of America Annual Meeting 2014
This session (or sessions) aims to bring together papers exploring the
relationship between architectural and urban forms in Italian cities. We
are interested in proposals that consider the fluid dialogue between
buildings and their city in the Early Modern period. How does the urban
environment impact architectural forms and choices and vice versa? How
do buildings communicate with the city and its inhabitants?
We invite abstracts of 150 words that deal with all types of Italian
urban spaces and buildings in the Early Modern period. Please submit
abstracts, keywords, and a brief CV (300 words) by May 20, 2013 to the
organizers, Alexandra Dodson (alexandra.dodsonduke.edu) and Jasmine
Cloud (jasmine.cloudtemple.edu).
