Revista de História da Arte (RHA) is an open access art history journal published online twice a year by Instituto de História da Arte. The journal publishes multi- and cross-disciplinary academic articles that address and critically analyse historical and current conditions of art practice and theory in the global field. The journal is indexed in ERIH PLUS and DOAJ.

Revista de História da Arte provides a high quality double anonymised peer review process for all papers published in the journal. We publish in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and welcome original scholarly articles, as well as creative responses on a variety of topics. We do not consider previously published material. RHA welcomes submissions from researchers at different stages of their academic or professional career.

RHA is committed to Portuguese and Portuguese-related art history but is by no means confined to it. We welcome contributions that foster cross-disciplinary and cross-chronological approaches, engaging with a broad spectrum of geographic contexts and methodologies. We are interested in perspectives involving the fields of art history and theory, visual arts, architecture and urbanism, museum and heritage studies, and curatorial and artistic practices, as well as those coming from disciplines within the social sciences.

We welcome submissions in the following formats:

- Academic research articles (6.000-9.000 words, including footnotes and bibliography)
- Interviews (2.000-3.000 words)
- Book reviews; current exhibitions overviews (max. 3.000 words)
- Creative responses (max. 3.000 words)
- Audio/video/visual essays (max. 10 min or 5-10 images followed by a brief artist statement 700-1.000 words)

Other types of submissions may be considered at the discretion of the Editor in Chief and the Editorial Board.
