International Conference Dedicated to the 140th Anniversary of Academician Giorgi Chubinashvili.
On December 11–12, 2025, the Giorgi Chubinashvili National Research Centre for Georgian Art History and Heritage Preservation will host an international conference: History of Georgian Art: Tradition and Perspectives, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the founder of the Georgian art historical school and the Institute of the History of Georgian Art, Acad. Giorgi Chubinashvili.
We invite scholars from various academic disciplines who study Georgian art from diverse perspectives. The conference will cover a broad range of topics, including but not limited to:
• Interpretation of pre-Christian, medieval, early modern, and contemporary Georgian art and architecture;
• The tradition and methodology of studying Georgian art, and the place of Georgian art history within the discourse of contemporary art history;
• Strategies and current challenges in the preservation of cultural heritage;
• Art education and the challenges of the modern era;
• Museums and national heritage in contemporary society.
Conference presentations must be based on original, unpublished research that has not been presented at other conferences.
Abstracts (300 words, in Sylfaen font) should be submitted by October 1 of the current year to the following email address: ekaterine_karselishviliart.edu.ge; makagabi17gmail.com
Abstracts should be accompanied by a brief CV (max. 100 words)

Format: Hybrid (in-person and online participation)
Duration of Presentation – 20 min.
PhD students are also welcome to participate.
