Kunstschutz-Initiativen im Ersten Weltkrieg in Ostmitteleuropa, hg. von Robert Born und Beate Störtkuhl.

This special issue in the Kunsttexte section Ostblick provides insights into the questions and initial research results of our project “Art Protection” in World War I and the Historiography of Art and Culture in Eastern Central Europe in the First Half of the 20th Century. Stakeholders – Networks – Concepts, which is based at the Oldenburg Federal Institute for Culture and History of Eastern Europe (BKGE) and was funded by the German-Polish Science Foundation (Frankfurt/Oder) from 2021–2024 (project 2020-11). The contributions are based on a workshop that took place in May 2023 at the Polish Academy of Sciences' Research Center in Vienna and involved intensive research in the archives there.
