VSAC 2024 - Call for Submissions.
VSAC: The Visual Science of Art Conference aims to connect artists and scientists to further our understanding of perceptual, conceptual and aesthetic aspects of art. The conference provides a venue for artists and scientists to present their work in various formats: talks, conversations, symposia, demonstrations and posters.
The Visual Science of Art Conference invites talks, posters, conversations, artworks and demos connecting the arts to visual perception, including empirical, experimental, philosophical, phenomenological, and computational approaches. VSAC began in 2012, when Baingio Pinna organized it as a satellite symposium for the European Conference on Visual Perception (ECVP). Next year, ECVP will be organized in Aberdeen from Aug 25-29.

Symposia submissions: until January 26, 2024
Talk, Poster and Conversation submissions: until March 1, 2024

Symposium Proposal Guidelines
Symposia are sessions with 4-6 talks centered around a theme. Symposia are a great way to focus on a specific topic from a variety of perspectives. We particularly encourage multidisciplinary groups that include artists. Symposia proposals will be accepted until Jan 26 2024.
To submit a proposal, please create a pdf with the information below, and send it to the email address vsac2024gmail.com. Please contact us if you have any questions, need advice, or want to briefly pitch an idea.

Other Types of Submissions
There are two types of submissions — Presentations and Conversations. The deadline to submit abstracts is March 1, 2024.
Presentations: : There are two formats: Talks and Posters. If you submit a presentation, please provide a title, 300-word abstract, authors and affiliations, and detailed keywords. Please indicate your preferred presentation format. You may submit only one presentation as first/presenting author, but you can co-author as many as you wish.
Conversations: Conversations between artists and scientists have a special place in VSAC’s program. Conversations typically report collaborative research, but could also be a dialogue between two speakers. If the 300-word abstract is too limited, you can use the supplementary material.
Please submit all abstracts here: https://easychair.org/cfp/vsac2024.
VSAC 2024 will take place in Aberdeen, Scotland on the 22nd-24th of August 2024 just before ECVP 2024.
