World Art Special Issue: Challenging Orientalism

Dr Emily Christensen

World Art special issue "Challenging Orientalism: New Perspectives on Perception and Reception" has now been published. Special issue editors Emily Christensen and Erica Payet

Orientalist art occupies a complicated and often contradictory position in the twenty-first century. This special issue provides a platform for authors who are expanding the traditional borders of this field by introducing new material objects, exploring the impact of cultural hybridity on the production and interpretation of Orientalist art, and
providing insights into its contemporary display and reception.
