I am pleased to invite you to the workshop "Gender and Body in the
Contemporary Arts" and various openings of the multi-venue exhibition
“Becoming Intense – Becoming Animal – Becoming …”, which take place
in
Heidelberg between 15-17 December, 2009.
Both events are part of the Cluster of Excellence, "Asia and Europe in a
Global Context" at Heidelberg University:

Tuesday, 15th 12:30: visits of the most important venues of the
exhibition in the old city guided by curator Martina Koeppel-Yang and
accompanied by the artists. Official opening at the Museum of Ethnology
at 5:30pm.

Wednesday, 16th , 9am: one-day workshop at the Internationales
Wissenschaftsforum Heidelberg; speakers include Kasahara Michiko
(Tokyo), Joan Kee (Ann Arbor), Martina Koeppel-Yang (Paris) and artists
Adel Abdessemed (New York/Paris), Oreet Ashery (London) as well as Sheba
Chhachi (New Delhi).

Thursday, 17th, 8pm, Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut: keynote by Linda
Nochlin, NYU.
