NEW: MA in Cultural Production

International and transdisciplinary Master programme for developing
sustainable cultural projects

Introduction to the programme at the University of Salzburg, Dept.

Focussing on the interconnections between art, culture and media,
and political, economic and social processes, this new university
programme at the University of Salzburg balances innovative cultural
theory with practice-oriented methods. As a postgraduate programme
over 2,5 years (blocked sessions) the MA comprises five semesters.

The transdisciplinary curriculum is laid out at the intersections
of art practice, cultural and communication studies, and a social
science approach to economy. Cluster topics in relation to Space &
Location, Vision & Change and Networks & Decentralisation allow for
specialisation in one of the central fields of cultural production.
Drawing on participants own professional interests, individual
projects are constantly developed further and implemented in their
contextual complexity. The programme includes a 3-weekinternship,
individual coaching and a Master thesis.

Internationaler und transdisziplinärer Masterlehrgang zur
Entwicklung nachhaltiger Kunst- und Kulturprojekte

Fachbereich Kommunikationswissenschaften/Universität Salzburg:
24. November 2009/ 17.00 - 19.00

Für die Realisation verantwortungsvoller kultureller Projekte sind
mehr denn je komplexe und integrative Qualifikationen an den
Schnittstellen von kulturwissenschaftlichem Wissen, künstlerischer
Praxis, Projektmanagement sowie Kulturökonomie gefordert. Der MA
Cultural Production reagiert mit einem neuartigen,
schnittstellenorientierten Studienprogramm auf aktuellen
Herausforderungen und zeitgenössischen Entwicklungen eines sich
laufend wandelnden Kunst- und Kultursektors: Das notwendige
Verständnis über die Wechselwirkungen von kulturellen Leistungen
mit politischen, medialen, ökonomischen und sozialen Prozessen wird
in Theorie und Praxis erworben und anwendungsorientierte Methoden
sowie Handlungsoptionen für die nachhaltige Entwicklung eigener und
individueller kultureller Projekte entwickelt. Drei Themencluster
(Raum & Standort, Vision & Wandel, Netzwerke & Dezentralisierung)
bilden dabei die inhaltlichen Schwerpunkte.

Der Lehrgang dauert 2,5 Semester und beinhaltet ein 3-wöchiges
Praktikum, individuelles Coaching sowie das Verfassen einer
Masterarbeit.
