Juniorprofessur für Italienische Kunst der Frühen Neuzeit W 1

Weitere Anforderungen für die Einstellung:
Nachweis erfolgreicher Lehre und Mitarbeit an einer Universität sowie an
einer außeruniversitären kunsthistorischen Forschungseinrichtung,
Auslandserfahrung, Forschungsschwerpunkt in der italienischen Kunst der
Frühen Neuzeit in einer kulturwissenschaftlichen Ausrichtung

Erwartungen an die künftige Tätigkeit:
Ausbau der Kooperation zwischen dem Max-Planck-Institut Florenz und dem
Kunsthistorischen Institut der Freien Universität Berlin im Hinblick auf
eine Erforschung der Kunst Italiens in mediterraner Perspektive.
Bereitschaft zur Übernahme von neuen Formen der Lehrtätigkeit am
Max-Planck-Institut Florenz und von gemeinsamen Lehrveranstaltungen
zwischen der Freien Universität Berlin und dem Max-Planck-Institut
Florenz. Erwünscht wird die Teilnahme am Aufbau eines internationalen
Promotionsstudiengangs für Kunstgeschichte zwischen dem 13. und 18.
Jahrhundert in vergleichender Perspektive.

Die/der zu Berufende wird zunächst für die Dauer von 3 Jahren als
Beamtin/Beamter auf Zeit eingestellt und halbjährlich zur Übernahme von
Forschungs- u. Lehraufgaben an das MPI in Florenz abgeordnet. Eine
Verlängerung um weitere drei Jahre ist bei festgestellter Bewährung
vorgesehen.

invites applications for a

Junior Professorship in the Italian Art of Early Modern Times

The successful applicant will be required to teach and research in this
area.

In line with article 102a of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner
Hochschulgesetz), applicants must have a PhD (equivalent to the rank of
"excellent" in the German system) as well as proven research and
teaching abilities. Previous employment in the German university system
--- whether prior or subsequent to the awarding of the degree --- should
not have exceeded six years.

The successful candidate should have a proven record of teaching
experience and collaborative work at a university as well as at a
non-university research institute of art history. He or she should also
have international experience. The candidate's research focus should be
on the Italian Art of Early Modern Times oriented toward the field of
cultural studies.

Moreover, the candidate will help to extend the cooperation between the
Max-Planck Institute of Florence and the Institute of Art History of the
Freie Universität Berlin. For this reason, the special emphasis of
research should be on Italian Art from a Mediterranean perspective. The
position should involve a willingness to establish new teaching methods
at the Max-Planck Institute of Florence and to contribute to the common
project between the Institute and the Freie Universität Berlin. Finally,
the candidate will be asked to contribute to the development of the
international PhD-programme for Art History from the 13th to the 18th
century.

The initial contract for this position is for a period of three years.
The junior professor will have civil servant status (W1). For six months
of every year the appointee will be delegated to the
Max-Planck-Institute of Florence. Given a positive performance
evaluation, the contract will be renewed for further three years.
