The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK's leading institution for
teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of
paintings.

We are seeking to appoint a specialist in the history of
nineteenth-century European (non-British) art for a three-year fixed term
to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The post will commence
from September 2008. Candidates will also be expected to contribute to the
teaching of art-historical methodology. A PhD and some teaching experience
will be required.

Fixed term (1st January 2008 - 31st August 2008)

You will play a full part in the Department's excellent undergraduate and
masters level teaching programme. Undergraduate teaching will include
introductory modules and more subject focused survey courses and special
subjects including modules on 19th century European Art. Masters level
teaching will include Theoretical Approaches to Art History. You will also
be required to undertake administrative duties within the Department.

You will also be required to demonstrate that you are committed to
research, as demonstrated by a PhD, existing publications and
well-formulated proposals for continued research.

Starting salary £33,779 to £40,335 a year (potential progression on
performance once in post to £45,397 a year).
