"Crossing Cultures: Conflict, Migration and Convergence"

Erstmals findet der Internationale Kongress für Kunstgeschichte in der
südlichen Hemisphäre statt. Er hat die weltweite Ausweitung des
Forschungsfeldes zum Thema. Die Geschichte des Internationalen Komitees für
Kunstgeschichte scheint zu bestätigen, was oft beobachtet wurde: Kusnt und
der Diskurs über Kunst sind zunehmend globalisiert. Kunst und ihre
Geschichte werden nicht nur hervorgebracht, sondern auf den Kontinenten auch
auf verschiedene Weise diskutiert. Die Globalisierung wird bereits als
dringlichste Frage an die Kunstgeschichtsschreibung wahrgenommen. Aber wie
können globale Ansätze der Kunstgeschichte in Theorie und Praxis Gestalt
annehmen? Welche Möglichkeiten ergeben sich für eine Weltkunstgeschichte?

Die zur Klärung solcher Fragen entwickelten Sektionen erstrecken sich über
verschiedene Räume und Zeiten. Untersektionen widmen sich einzelnen Epochen
und Regionen. Das Komitee lädt dazu ein, sich an den anstehenden Debatten in
Form eines Beitragsvorschlags und durch einen Besuch der Tagung zu
beteiligen.

Geplant sind 18 Sektionen pro Tag mit Raum für jeweils acht Vorträge. Jeder
Vortrag soll 25 Minuten dauern (plus 10 Minuten Diskussion). Die
Tagungsleitung lädt zur Einreichung von Beitragsvorschlägen in 350 Worten

Die Vorschläge müssen per E-mail vor dem 27. November 2006 beim
Organisationskomitee eingegangen sein, ergänzt um einen kurzen Lebenslauf,
der über den Qualifikationsweg und die fünf wichtigsten Publikationen
Aufschluss gibt. Im Februar 2007 erhalten die Bewerber Nachricht. Eine
Publikation der Tagungsakten ist für das Folgejahr vorgesehen.

Committee of the History of Art.

"Crossing Cultures: Conflict, Migration and Convergence"

The first meeting of an international congress of the history of art in the
southern hemisphere epitomizes the expansion of the field throughout the
globe. The history of the International Committee of the History of Art
suggests what many people throughout the world have recognized: art and the
discourses around it are increasingly global. Art and its history are not
only created, but discussed in one form or another on all the inhabited
continents of the earth. Globalism has thus also assumed an art historical
aspect: indeed it has been described as art history's most pressing issue.
But how can global issues in art history take form in theory or practice?
What are the possibilities for a world art history?
Sessions have been developed that explore major themes as they unfold across
time and space. Subsections lend themselves to period and regional
subdivisions. You are warmly invited to join in these vital debates by
offering a paper and by coming to the Congress. For further informations on

Colloque organisé par le Comité Français d'Histoire de l'Art co-organisé
avec le musée du quai Branly en partenariat avec l'INHA, qui se tiendra à
Paris du 21 au 23 juin 2007.

Les propositions de communications devront être envoyées par voie

"Comment écrire l'histoire de l'art (régionale, nationale, globale)?"

Colloque organisé par l'Institut d'histoire de l'art de Budapest en novembre
2007 à l'initiative du professeur Laszlo Beke. Dates sous réserves: 21-25
novembre 2007.

L'appel à communications sera bientôt transmis par le Comité Hongrois
d'Histoire de l'art.
