H-NET DONATION CAMPAIGN

Dear Colleagues:

Why donate?

H-net is a 501c3 non-profit organization. H-Net makes do with
slenderresources. Our staff at MSU consists of just a few folks. They
coordinate a family of 175 discussionlists, listsedited by our legion of
volunteer (and unpaid) editors. MSU stafforganizethe reviews program,
maintain the announcements list and the JobGuide. Our network editors edit
thediscussion lists and play the vital(and thankless) role of keeping
H-Net free from that junk which clogs somuch of the web--spam, ads.

Your donation will help us keep up with the technology. We'll be able
torebuild the underlyingtechnology of H-Net to more effectively handle
announcements, reviews, andjob postings. Someday soonWe may be able to
expose discussions to web indexing, making them moreaccessible to our
colleagues and students.

As Peter said, we frequently hear from subscribers that membership
withH-Net hasserved them well.

I hope that you will make a donation to supportH-Net--to support the work
of our editors and staff making H-Net a unique place for scholarly
collaboration. Your gifts are vital toretaining andimproving the quality
of this important professional service.

Tax-deductible donations can be made via credit card or check at
