Assistant Professor, Modern Architectural History Rhode Island School of
Design Salary: Competitive Location: Providence, RI Type: Full Time –
Academic – Assistant Professor Assistant Professor, full-time ladder
appointment, starting September 2006. Specialty in 19th to 21st century
architectural history with preference given to candidates with a global
focus in their work. Ph.D by date of appointment, record of scholarly
research and publication, and teaching experience required. In addition to
research and publication, responsibilities include: team-teaching in the
art history introductory course and the Department of Architecture’s
survey of modern architectural history; offering courses in the history of
design and upper-level electives in specialty; advising of art history
concentrators and reasonable departmental and college service. Candidates
should have an active interest in working with undergraduate and graduate
students who will be practicing architects, designers and artists.
Excellent potential for collaborative projects with the Museum of Art at
RISD, one of the finest regional collections in the nation, as well with
our neighboring institution, Brown University, with whom we enjoy a
