CALL FOR PAPERS
"METHODS – RESEARCH PROJECTS ON ART-SOCIETY RELATIONS"
Art for social transformation
Second International Workshop
27-30 JANUARY 2006
ARTE FIERA 2006 – BOLOGNA EXHIBITION CENTER - ITALY
Cittadellarte/ Fondazione Pistoletto and Artfactories are organising
from 27 to 30 January on the occasion of Arte Fiera 2006 at Bologna
Exhibition Center a Second International Workshop on issues related
to art and social transformation in our society. If you are a
cultural operator, an artist, a researcher and you are interested in
sharing your own experience, difficulties and elements of evaluation
on a creative process dealing with this topic, you are warmly invited
to participate.
Description
The workshop’s intention is to undertake a survey of the methods and
processes developed through artistic projects aiming towards social
transformation. The workshop makes a comparison between different
creative experiences using the theoretical and practical objectives
of interaction between people and social contexts. Projects proposed
should find their inspiration from specific social problems and,
through a network of community, of public and private sector bodies
and institutions, realise new sites and platforms for reciprocal
exchange and dialogue. The workshop will be a unique possibility of
sharing, learning and analysing in depth this type of projects.
Selection procedure for the workshop
The candidates who wish to take part in the workshop must fill in the
enclosed questionnaire preferably in English (papers in Spanish,
French or Italian are also welcome) in no less than 4000 characters
and a maximum of 7000 characters i.e. 3/5 standard pages, and
accompanied by a Curriculum Vitae. After the selection, any text not
in English will be translated. The selection for the workshop will be
made by the workshop promoters, and will be communicated on the 15th
of December. Other projects will also be selected to be visible on
