PSi #11 has been conceived as "a conference toward performance/studies:
modes of thinking, physical methodologies, spatial thoughts, sound
disturbances, and knowing bodies." It w-artists and scholars from such
diverse fields as Visual Arts, Theatre, Cultural Studies, Ethnomusicology,
and Anthropology and Archaeology who share a fascination with the
pleasures and perils of performance.

The Conference will kick off with a "performative banquet" directed by
Richard Gough on March 30th. In addition to conference sessions,
performances will be staged each evening at Brown and in downtown
Providence by both well-known and emerging groups.China Vienna, Mali,
Amsterdam, and Bali. Evening shows will be available at nominal cost to
conference attendees.

The combined registration and PSi membership fees have been priced on a
sliding scale based on income, from $50 to $140 until February 25th, and
from $65 to $160 thereafter. The banquet has a separate charge of $35.
Institutional memberships with registration for up to four people are also
available, with or without co-sponsorship of the conference.

Special hotel rates in Providence have been secured, from $110 for
occupancy by four, with free transportation to the conference and
performance sites.
