"Development of Multi-Disciplinary Management Strategies for Conservation
and Use of Heritage Sites in Asia and Europe"

the Chair Intercultural Studies at the BTU Cottbus is seeking for an
experienced

PROJECT COORDINATOR

for an 20 month term - part-time (50 %).
Payment in accordance with German BAT (IIa -O)

Closing date for applications: 7 Jan 2005.

The project promotes an active co-operation between four partner
universities in Germany, Spain, China, and India which are developing a
multi-disciplinary approach in the field of cultural heritage management.
The project focuses on human resource development by means of faculty
exchanges, workshops and seminars and uses an Internet-based collaborative
environment for its communication that will be progressively enhanced
throughout the term of the project.

Description of activities:

- Scheduling, co-ordination and organisation of all project activities
- Conceiving strategies for joint research and capacity building
- Conceiving plans for the development of the project and its objectives
- Collation of progress reports and compilation of the final report
- Budget administration
- Communication with the European Commission and other parties
- Support of dissemination activities

Prerequisites:

- University degree in a subject relating to the area of World Heritage such
as humanities or social sciences
- Profound experiences in development, implementation and evaluation of
international research projects
- Coordination and time management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Intercultural competence for negotiation and cooperation with
international partners
- Reliability and capacity to deliver high-quality results under time
pressure
- Flexibility and disposition for international travelling
- Fluency in English and German

Aufgabengebiet: Konzeptionelle und organisatorische Entwicklung und
Weiterentwicklung der Akademie; angefangen bei wissenschaftlichen und
kulturellen Reihen bis hin zur Konzipierung und Organisation von Trainings;
Mitarbeit bei der konzeptionellen Weiterentwicklung der
Qualifizierungsangebote; Marketing und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit; Kundenakquise;
Kontaktpflege zu deutschen und internationalen Projektpartnern; Ausbau des
Trainerpools; administrative Unterstützung beim Aufbau eines
Master-Studienganges; Zuständigkeit für das Abrechnungswesen.

Voraussetzungen: abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium,
möglichst Promotion; ausgewiesene kulturwissenschaftliche und
betriebswirtschaftliche Qualifikationen; mehrjährige einschlägige
Berufserfahrung; insbesondere nachgewiesene Erfahrungen in den Bereichen
Projektmanagement, wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung, internationale
Kooperationen und Verwaltung von Fördermitteln; fließende Englischkenntnisse
in Wort und Schrift.
