Scholar of European art and architecture, late eighteenth- through early
twentieth-century. Ability to teach the history of photography desirable.
Ph.D., teaching experience, and evidence of scholarly potential are
required. Applicants should be committed to teaching excellence,
scholarly research and production, collegiality, department and university
service, and working with museum collections.
TCU maintains a close relationship with the several art museums in the
Dallas-Fort Worth area, especially the Amon Carter Museum, Kimbell Art
Museum, and Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
Begin August 2005. 3-2 teaching load includes 19th and 20th century
classes and art history survey. Opportunity to develop specialty and
interdisciplinary courses, at both the undergraduate and graduate (MA)

The Department of History of Art and Architecture at Brown University
invites nominations and applications for the Andrea V. Rosenthal Chair in
the History of Art and Architecture. Candidates should have a
distinguished international reputation for research and publication in
some area(s) of European or continental North American art/visual culture,
c.1815-1930.
The Andre V. Rosenthal Professor will exercise leadership in research,
teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise theses and
dissertations. Courses offered by this faculty member are expected to
complement course offerings in our department in contemporary art and
visual culture and the history of modern and contemporary architecture.
She or he will be expected to provide service to the department and the
profession, and to promote interaction among scholars in related fields.

You will be teaching the art of the Italian Renaissance and supervising
the running of the term spent in Venice by final-year undergraduates, and
by MA students. You will contribute to the academic development of the
department teaching undergraduates and postgraduates and supervising
doctoral candidates as required, and carry out necessary administration
within the department.
You should have good first degree, and a PhD. Some previous teaching
experience is desirable but not essential. You will already have begun
publishing your work, and have plans to continue so doing.
