Call for Paper Proposals
DEADLINE: May 14, 2004
"Blending New Learning Technologies into Traditional Art Historical
Instruction at the Introductory Level" College Art Association Annual
Meeting, 16-19 February 2005
An abundance of new technologies is being introduced into college art
history classes, predominantly by individual instructors in small classes
on an ad hoc basis, thus limiting the extent to which lessons learned can
be applied to other curricular contexts. This session aims to provide an
overview of strategies, best practices and emerging trends to fund,
develop, and share digital programs for large numbers of users in an
academic (large enrollment survey) or museum environment. Papers and
demonstrations may represent case studies or broader investigations of
technology in art historical instruction. Submissions from faculty-
teachers, museum education staff, and publishers encouraged.
Session sponsored by the Art Historians Interested in Pedagogy &
Technology Annual Conference of the College Art Association Atlanta,
Georgia, February 16-19, 2005
Proposals should be sent by the May 14 deadline to Dr. Laetitia La
Follette, University of Massachusetts, 130 Hicks Way, Amherst, MA 01003
AND Dr. Kelly Donahue-Wallace, University of North Texas, School of
Visual Arts, P.O. Box 305100, Denton, TX 76203
