Dear friends,
I teach at the University of Ulster in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in
a studio-led school of Art and Design, rather than an art history
department. My own research area is feminist approaches to art and
art history. Most recent publication: Feminism-Art-Theory 1968-2000,
(Oxford: Blackwells, 2001).
I am also research co-ordinator for the School, and am presently
trying to develop policies whereby the University can support its
studio/workshop based researchers. To this end I want to investigate
the concept of the Arts Lab. Present arts labs seem to be highly
technological, media labs. At present I can't find where the original
arts lab was, or what its intention was. Can anyone help?
Many thanks (and please forgive if I don't respond for a few days as
I will be away from home)
Hilary Robinson.
