Art and Architecture of Late Medieval Pilgrimage

E.J. Brill Press invites submissions for the volume "Art and Architecture of
Late Medieval Pilgrimage", concerning pilgrimage centers and the associated
material culture which flourished during the twelfth to sixteenth centuries
in
northern Europe and the British Isles.

Essays of 20- 25 pages should address one of the following:
1) the pilgrimage church and its decoration
2) the shrine, reliquaries, and other related liturgical objects
3) pictorial imagery in wall paintings, manuscripts, or minor arts related
to
visitation or travel practices of pilgrims
4) artwork connected with the actual or imagined pilgrimage journey
5) studies on great and small regional pilgrimage sites
6) other closely-related studies of pilgrimage art.

Please send a 1-2 page abstract by April 30 to
