[sic!] Summer Institute Cologne 2019: Imprints • Media • History

[sic!] is looking forward to its seventh year and to the topic of Imprints • Media • History. The international program offers annual graduate-level seminars on topics in cultural history as well as lectures, poster presentations, academic workshops, and an excursion.
In 2019, there will be the following seminars in the historiography and theory of the arts and culture:

I – Theatre Historiography: Historical Thinking/Critical Thinking
(Prof. Tracy C. Davis and Prof. Peter W. Marx)
II – Comics, Caricatures, and Cartoons in Comparative Perspectives
(Prof. Tom Gaubatz and Prof. Stephan Packard)

[sic!] is hosted by the Theaterwissenschaftliche Sammlung (TWS) of Cologne University, one of the largest archives of theatre history in Europe. Situated in the picturesque manor house Schloss Wahn, located in the suburbs of Cologne, [sic!] provides a unique setting for learning and discussion, combining gracious surroundings with facilities for daily seminars, and offering access to exceptional archival materials in proximity to one of Germany's most vibrant metropolises.

[sic!] Summer Institute Cologne is a joint project of University of Cologne and Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.

The application deadline for [sic!] 2019 is 22nd March 2019. Please fill out the Application Form with care and send the form (as DOC, DOCX or PDF file) and your CV to the coordination team (Elena & Sabine) via e-mail using the subject line "application sic 2019": sabine.paesler(at)uni-koeln.de

The application is open to graduate students (master and PhD). Incomplete or late applications will not be considered! Please do not use any other file formats than DOC, DOCX or PDF.
