Pre-conference Workshop - Art Technical Research and the RICH Microdome

On the 10th of January 2017, the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) will organize a workshop with the RICH Microdome (Portable Light Dome - PLD) on art technical research from the perspective of late medieval and early modern material culture. The objects that will be studied are medieval manuscripts, early modern prints and drawings, and the Mechelen Enclosed Gardens (mixed-media, garden-like altarpieces).
The workshop is organized in the context of "Imaging Utopia: New Perspectives on Northern Renaissance Art", the 20th Symposium for the Study of Underdrawing and Technology in Painting, organized by Illuminare – Centre for the Study of Medieval Art (University of Leuven) in Mechelen and Leuven from 11 to 13 January 2017 (https://imagingutopia.wordpress.com).
Registration for the pre-conference workshop is free of charge, but please note that all attendants are expected to register and attend the Imaging Utopia conference.
