Call for applications for Anny Antoine and Louis Koopman scholarships.

The KB National Library and the Anny Antoine/Louis Koopman Foundation are offering two scholarships for academic research into the Anny Antoine/Louis Koopman Collection, a collection of French literature, typography and artists' books with an international appeal.

Students and recent graduates can register from today. Studies in the field of twentieth- and twenty-first-century culture, art and book history and French literature are welcome. The form can be discussed, for example [web]publications, presentations, art projects, blogs, videos, etc.

Two scholarships
1. Anny Antoine Scholarship: €10,000, available once a year.
2. Louis Koopman Scholarship: €5,000, available twice a year.
Both scholarships may be supplemented with travel and accommodation expenses for research in other Dutch or foreign collections.

Anny Antoine/Louis Koopman Collection
The book collection was bequeathed to the KB by Louis Koopman (1887-1968) in honour of his fiancée Anny Antoine (1897-1933). The collection originally focused on modern French literature, but over the years it has developed into a collection of exceptional typography and artists' books, with a special focus on international collaborations between publishers and artists. The collection comprises more than 10,000 works, some of which can be viewed on the KB website.

Procedure
Applications for either scholarship must be submitted before 31 October 2025. Applications will be assessed by the Academic Advisory Board and approved by the Foundation's Board. Please refer to the regulations for the guidelines and conditions. Candidates will be informed of the decision as soon as possible.
