CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST.
The Centre for Arts, Memory and Communities at Coventry University extends an invitation to PhDs (within 7 years of degree completion) to express their interest in applying for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA 2025) Individual Fellowship. We welcome expressions of interest from potential applicants with expertise in Art History, History, Cultural Memory, Visual and Material Cultures, Museum Studies, with a significant focus on memory and memory-making; hidden cultural memory; traumatic memory; museums/exhibitions, cultural heritage and recreating/inventing memory or cognate fields. We advise that candidates check carefully the detailed guidance for the scheme to ensure you are eligible. Broadly, these are:
- You should have a PhD by the time of the deadline for applications (10 Sept 2025).
- You must have a maximum of eight years’ experience in research, from the date of the award of their PhD degree
- You must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the UK for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the Call deadline.

- Art and cultural memory, early-modernity to the contemporary period including in French, Francophone contexts
- Museums – collecting, staging exhibits/memory, living museums
- image/text – writing/imaging memory – memory (re-writings)
- Sites of Memory/lieux de mémoire
- Hidden actors/disappearing cultural heritages, erasures/ traumas, incomplete memory
- Memory practices – artworks, memorials, commemorations, recoveries, recreations, restagings
- Affective memory – emotions, gestures of memory, sensory memory
- Gender/memory – masculinities/women/gender identities and memory
- Intercultural/de-colonial memory
- Designing memory
- AI, art history/cultural heritage and memory

- Deadline for Submission of Proposals: 10 September 2025 at 17.00 CET
