AAH2013 conference University of Reading, UK
Poster Session
The convenors of the Poster Session at the Association of Art Historians’ forthcoming annual conference, to be held at Reading between the 11-13 April 2013, invite proposals from participants who would like to take part in the conference but whose ideas might not seem suitable for conventional paper presentations. This session is meant to serve as an exciting alternative to such presentations, offering a platform from which contributors are able to present their work in a concise and primarily graphic manner. They will have the opportunity to give a clear and effective rendition of their arguments and projects through a predefined two-dimensional vertical space in which the prevalence of pictorial communication is encouraged.
Although no particular theme for the session is envisaged, preference will be given to ideas that are particularly adept to such a mode of address. Prospective participants will be encouraged to make good use of visual presentation techniques, thus ensuring that their work arouses interest in, and communicates effectively with, the delegates.
Guidelines on the effective blending of visuals and text will be made available to the selected presenters. Joint authorship of posters is welcomed.
Submission
If you would like to present a poster, please email the session convenors directly and provide them with an abstract of not more than 250 words. You are kindly asked to include your name and institutional affiliation (if any). Deadline for submissions is 12 November 2012. An acknowledgement of receipt of your submission will be sent to you by 20 November 2012. For more information, please visit the AAH website www.aah.org.uk or contact one of the convenors.
