12th Forum East Asian Art History in German-speaking Countries
The Institute for East Asian Art History (IKO) at Heidelberg University is pleased to announce the 12th Forum for East Asian Art History in German-speaking Countries in 2024. Since 2012, the Forum has brought together early career researchers from German-speaking universities and museums. In the last years we have also welcomed early-career researchers from across the globe: Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea and the US.The Forum serves as a venue for presentations of individual research projects and the discussion of innovative methodological approaches in the field. We encourage applications to present ongoing (PhD, PostDoc) research and exhibition projects, as well as to findings from concluded graduate theses. Proposals for thematic panels with three to four speakers are also welcome.
As always, no professors/supervisors will be part of the workshop to make it a safe-space for discussing uncertainties, try out new theories and present openly on problems. You are free to make individual appointments with Heidelberg University professors in advance. To apply for a twenty-minute presentation, please send an abstract of 250 words, at least 3 keywords, and a short CV (max. 1 page) in German or English to Katharina Rode-Kaya (Katharina.rodezo.uni-heidelberg.de).
Panel proposals should include abstracts for the panel and each separate paper.
Deadline for submissions is November 15, 2023.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide financial assistance to cover traveling costs.
We therefore ask participants to secure funding from other sources and moved the deadlines up.
