De Gruyter Publishers hereby invite scholars to submit manuscripts for the new series OYSTER: FEMINIST AND QUEER APPROACHES TO ARTS, CULTURES, AND GENDERS.

This book series aims at providing a platform for original and innovative scholarly research on questions of gender and sexuality in the fields of diversified arts and globalized cultures. The contributors approach their subjects within frameworks of feminist and queer thought, theories, and practice. At the same time, the research monographs and edited collections create a forum where complex disciplinary histories and methodologies entangled with powerful epistemologies can be addressed. As part of a broader critical discourse, the series explores the role of art in articulating queer and feminist politics globally in both historical and contemporary contexts and across genres, media, and audiences. Drawing inspiration from the gender fluid oyster, this book series hopes to foster new perspectives of a transnational, decolonizing, intersectional, transversal and fantastic world of arts, cultures and genders.

This book series is open to different formats, such as monographs and edited volumes, both in English and German language. Books can be published in color in print and/or digitally as e-books (Gold Open Access).

Please note that a publication with a German publisher involves a financial contribution to the production costs. The publisher will, however, support you in the search and acquisition of third-party funding.

Der De Gruyter Verlag (Berlin/Boston) lädt Forscher:innen und Wissenschaftler:innen ein, Manuskripte für die neue Reihe OYSTER: FEMINIST AND QUEER APPROACHES TO ARTS, CULTURES, AND GENDERS einzureichen.

Die Buchreihe versteht sich als Plattform für innovative wissenschaftliche Forschung zu Fragen von Geschlecht und Sexualität in diversifizierten Bereichen der Kunst und globalisierter Kulturen. Die Autor:innen verfolgen Ansätze feministischer und queerer Theorien, Praktiken und Denkweisen. Gleichzeitig sollen die Monografien und Sammelbände ein Forum eröffnen, innerhalb dessen machtvolle Epistemologien dieser komplexen disziplinären Geschichten und Methodologien adressiert werden können. Als Teil eines breiteren kritischen Diskurses erforscht die Reihe die Bedeutung von Kunst für queere und feministische Politik trans- und interkulturell, sowohl in historischen als auch in zeitgenössischen Kontexten und über alle Genres, Medien und Zielgruppen hinweg. Inspiriert von der genderfluiden Auster möchte diese Buchreihe neue Perspektiven auf eine transnationale, dekolonisierende, intersektionale, transversale und fantastische Welt der Künste, Kulturen und Geschlechter fördern.

Die Buchreihe ist offen für verschiedene Formate wie Monografien und Sammelbände sowohl in englischer als auch in deutscher Sprache. Die Bücher können in Farbe, mit Farbanteil oder s/w gedruckt und/oder digital als E-Book (Gold Open Access) veröffentlicht werden.
