Senzacornice – Digital journal of contemporary art and criticism.
The theme of the next issue of Senzacornice will be "paradigm," the definition of which is below. Anyone interested in submitting their own contribution in this regard is asked to send the provisional title to our Editorial Office by email (redazionesenzacornice.org) by May 1, 2023, and the final version of the article by May 15, 2023, which should be written following editorial standards and accompanied by a curriculum vitae. Artists are also invited to participate by sending their works inspired by the subject matter to the Editorial Office. Anyone, on the other hand, who intends to propose an article that falls outside the theme, but is in line with the disciplinary areas embraced by Senzacornice, can contact our Editorial Office for possible publication in the 'Outline' section.
PARADIGM
The word paradigm (from the ancient greek paradeíknumi, "to compare, to expose, to show") refers to a prototype, a reference model, or a system of rules from which it is possible to enunciate arguments and issues: at a grammatical level it identifies the structure of variations responsible for the declension and conjugation of words and verbs; in the fields of philosophy and science (as well as of the arts, art history methodologies and curatorial practices) it represents that complex of acquired knowledge mainly used to cope with topics not otherwise practicable. From the mid-twentieth century, it also plays a pivotal role in the debate around the concept of "Paradigm Shift", a modification due to anomalies that arise at certain times within a specific field of research and not solvable, except through the revision of the pre-existing models (T. Kuhn, 1962).
