Fondazione Accademia Carrara, ente che dal 2015 gestisce Accademia Carrara di Bergamo, indice il bando per il nuovo direttore del Museo, con invito a candidati italiani e internazionali a presentare le domande di partecipazione, secondo le modalità indicate, entro e non oltre il 10 marzo 2023.

Il ruolo di direttore è affidato fino a fine mandato (gennaio 2024) a M. Cristina Rodeschini che nell’ultimo anno ha accolto la richiesta di estendere il proprio impegno professionale, così da includere l’appuntamento con Bergamo Brescia Capitale Italiana della Cultura.

Compiuta la selezione, a maggio 2023, il candidato individuato avvierà sin da subito una prima collaborazione a contratto per l’anno in corso, potendo così disegnare, in stretto contatto con il team del museo, la programmazione pluriennale per poi entrare di ruolo a partire dal 1° febbraio 2024.

Accademia Carrara è stata fondata nel 1796 per volontà del conte Giacomo Carrara, a partire dalla propria passione di collezionista e conoscitore. L’istituzione si distingue nel panorama artistico italiano per identità e qualità del patrimonio: è considerata la ‘Casa del collezionismo’ per via dei molti donatori che hanno reso la collezione straordinaria, fra le più affascinanti raccolte dal Quattrocento all’Ottocento, con un nucleo rinascimentale di assoluto rilievo.

Gli interessati a partecipare alla selezione possono presentare la propria candidatura alla Fondazione Accademia Carrara, entro e non oltre le ore 12.00 del 10 marzo 2023, facendola pervenire esclusivamente per posta elettronica certificata, al seguente indirizzo: fondazionecarrarapec.it (farà fede la data e l’orario di consegna del messaggio di posta elettronica certificata). L’oggetto della PEC dovrà contenere indicazione del mittente e la dicitura “Candidatura per l’incarico di Direttore del Museo Accademia Carrara di Bergamo”.

The Fondazione Accademia Carrara di Bergamo (hereinafter the Foundation) is a private-law entity established on 25 June 2015 with the aim of promoting and enhancing public use of the artistic, historical and cultural heritage of the Accademia Carrara of Bergamo. In addition, it has the mission of ‘promoting the study of the fine arts to the benefit of the Country and Posterity’, in the words of its founder Count Giacomo Carrara.

The Foundation endeavours to be a centre of advanced study for those humanistic, historical, philological and scientific disciplines with a connection to art, working together with cultural institutes, museums, foundations, academies, universities and other national and international entities, including with the aim of developing synergies and forms of collaboration for high culture.

In accordance with the spirit that underlay the founding of the historical Accademia by Count Giacomo Carrara, the Foundation is the not-for-profit institution entrusted with managing the Accademia Carrara to the end of enhancing and preserving its heritage.

Article 15 of the Foundation’s current Statute specifies that the Board of Directors shall nominate the Museum Director, or, if it prefers, a Museum Director and General Manager of the Foundation, upon a proposal made by the President. At the time of the nomination, the Board of Directors shall determine the duration, responsibilities and the character of the positions.
Having taken note of the positive experience of the current organisational structure, the Board of Directors has confirmed its decision to nominate a Museum Director and a General Manager of the Foundation. It has further determined that the position of Museum Director will begin on 1 February 2024 and will have a duration of four years. The nominee shall act in accordance with the following guidelines, which outline the respective responsibilities of the two positions: Museum Director.

Persons interested in the selection may submit an application to the Fondazione Accademia Carrara no later than 12:00 pm on 10 March 2023. The sole mode of submission is by certified email to the following address: fondazionecarrarapec.it (The time and date of the submission of the certified email message will determine whether the deadline has been met.) The subject line of the certified email must indicate the applicant’s name together with the phrase Candidatura per l’incarico di Direttore del Museo Accademia Carrara di Bergamo (‘Candidacy for the position of Museum Director of the Accademia Carrara of Bergamo’).
