CAA-Getty International Program 2023: Applications Now Open!

The Getty Foundation has awarded the College Art Association (CAA) a grant to fund the CAA-Getty International Program for a twelfth consecutive year. The Foundation’s support will enable CAA to bring twelve international visual-arts professionals to CAA's 111th Annual Conference in New York, NY, February 15–18, 2023. Recipients will be first-time participants in the program, accompanied by alumni returning to present papers.

Recipients will receive funds for travel expenses, hotel accommodations, per diems, conference registrations, and a CAA membership for one year. They will also participate in a one-day preconference colloquium on global issues in art history on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, as well as ongoing engagement with alumni from the program online and at future conferences.

Applicants must be practicing art historians who teach at a university or work as a curator in a museum. They must have an excellent working knowledge of English, be able to obtain a visa to travel to the United States, and be available to participate in CAA events. Professionals who have not previously attended the conference receive priority consideration.

The encourage more international participation at the conference, the grant excludes scholars from countries well represented in CAA, including the United States, Canada, Western Europe, Israel, and Australia.

The deadline for applications is August 15, 2022.
