Call for Reviewers: Museum History Journal

Deadline: Jul 18, 2022

Laia Anguix, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

We are looking for peer-reviewers to read and comment a series of articles for a special guest issue to be published in the Museum History Journal (Taylor and Francis). The issue explores social vs artistic power dynamics in the curation of art galleries over time, and the selected contributions feature examples of curatorial practices ranging from the early 20th century to the present day. Although all the articles focus on British case studies, the topics they cover have a wider scope, dealing with contemporary museum issues such as inclusion, education, gender, and colonial legacies.

We would still need reviewers interested in the following topics:
- Experimental curation in the 1950s-1960s.
- Curation of the moving image in the early 21st century.
- Exhibiting foreign cultures at the British Museum.
- Curation at the Venice Biennale.

Each article contains around 6000-8000 words, including references. The reviewers will have three months to carry out their work since the reception of the chosen article, and the whole process is double-blinded. To receive further details on any of the articles, and to contribute as a peer reviewer, please, write a short e-mail describing your research interests and experience.
