33rd Congress of the International Committee of the History of Art

The Germanisches Nationalmuseum is hosting the 33rd Congress of the
International Committee of the History of Art CIHA 2012, from the 15th
to the 20th July, 2012, here in Nuremberg. For the first time in the
140 year history of the World Congress for Art History it is being
staged by a museum. The central theme of the Congress is thus the
title: "The Challenge of the Object".

We are delighted that the Federal President of the Federal Republic of
Germany, Joachim Gauck, has agreed to be patron to the Congress. The
Congress has been largely financed by the Federal Government
Commissioner for Culture and the Media as well as the Bavarian State
Ministry for Science, Research and the Arts, the Federal Ministry for
Education and Research, the Getty Foundation and the Deutsche
Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) as well as by the patrons of the
Fördererkreis of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum.
This explains why the participation fee of 260 € is very low compared
to previous world congresses in Montreal (2004) und Sydney (2008).
Alongside the program of lectures, this fee also covers the Wednesday
excursions, all evening events as well as a ticket for the use of local
public transport during the period of the Congress and the program
publication itself.

Should you only want to attend the Congress only on two days
(16th/17th, July or 19th/20th, July), please contact the Congress
Bureau under infociha2012.de directly. Our office team will then send
you a two-day ticket costing 120 € (reduction 50 €).

Le Germanisches Nationalmuseum est, entre le 15 et le 20 Juillet 2012,
hôte du 33e Congrès International des Historiens d'art CIHA 2012 à
Nuremberg. C’est pour la première fois, au cours de l’histoire d’à peu
près 140 ans du Congrès mondial des historiens d’art, qu’on organise un
tel congrès dans un musée. Le thème du congrès est, par conséquent,
programmatique: «Les exigences de l’objet d’art / The Challenge of
the Objekt»

Nous sommes très heureux que le Président de la République, Monsieur
Joachim Gauck, ait accepté de se charger du parrainage de notre
manifestation.
Le congrès sera en grande partie financé par le Chargé d’affaires
culturelles du gouvernement allemand, par le Ministère d’Etat bavarois
pour l’Education, la Recherche et l’Art, par le Ministère Fédéral pour
l’Education et la Recherche, par la Fondation Getty et par la Société
allemande de recherche (DFK), de même que par le Cercle des amis
souteneurs du Germanisches Nationalmuseum.

C’est pour cela que la taxe de participation au congrès - en
comparaison avec celle des Congrès de Montréal (2004) et de Sydney
(2008) reste, avec un montant de 260 Euro, très réduite. Cette taxe
inclut, hors la participation aux conférences, la participation aux
excursions ayant lieu mercredi, toutes les manifestations du soir de
même que les billets nécessaires pour le transport interurbain pendant
toute la durée du congrès et le cahier-programme.

Si vous vous décidez de ne participer au congrès que pour deux jours,
(le 16e et le 17e ou bien le 19e et le 20e Juillet) annoncez-le s’il
vous plaît au bureau du congrès sous infociha2012.de. Les membres de
ce bureau vont vous envoyer alors le billet de participation au prix de
120 Euro (réduction pour les étudiants -50 Euro).

Das Germanische Nationalmuseum ist vom 15. bis 20. Juli 2012 Gastgeber
des 33. Internationalen Kunsthistoriker-Kongresses CIHA2012 in
Nürnberg. Erstmals in der fast 140jährigen Geschichte des
Weltkongresses der Kunstgeschichte wird er von einem Museum
ausgerichtet. Das Thema des Kongresses lautet daher programmatisch „Die
Herausforderung des Objekts/The Challenge of the Object“.

Wir freuen uns sehr, dass Bundespräsident Joachim Gauck die
Schirmherrschaft für den Kongress übernommen hat. Der Kongress wird vom
Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kunst und Medien, dem Bayerischen
Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst, dem
Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, der Getty Foundation und
der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) sowie dem Fördererkreis des
Germanischen Nationalmuseums maßgeblich finanziert. Dadurch ist die
Teilnehmergebühr mit 260,00 € im Vergleich zu den vergangenen
Weltkongressen in Montreal (2004) und Sydney (2008) sehr niedrig. In
der Anmeldegebühr enthalten sind neben dem Vortragsprogramm die
Teilnahme an den Mittwochs-Exkursionen, allen Abendveranstaltungen
sowie ein Nahverkehrsticket für die Laufzeit des Kongresses und das
Programmbuch.

Sollten Sie sich für den Besuch des Kongresses an nur zwei Tagen
entscheiden wollen (16./17.7. oder 19./20.7.), melden Sie sich bitte im
Kongressbüro unter infociha2012.de. Die Kollegen vor Ort werden Ihnen
dann die 2-Tages-Karte zum Preis von 120,00 € (Studentenermäßigung
50,00 €) zukommen lassen.
