Closing Conference (L)imitation: Boundaries of Mimesis
The title (L)imitation addresses possible boundaries of mimesis: Is mimetic potential limited? Are these limitations determined, even constructed; or are they needed as a driving impetus? The conference adopts an interdisciplinary perspective and aims at exploring the limits of mimesis as an aesthetic, socio-cultural and anthropological key concept. Looking back on the work of the IDP MIMESIS, the conference intends to further explore and productively review these concepts, as well as historical and political aspects of the mimetic.
