Russia and the Global Cézanne Effect, 1900-1950
March 26-28, 2010
Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library, St. Petersburg
In March 2010 in Saint-Petersburg, the international conference "Russia and
the Global Cézanne Effect, 1900-1950?" will bring together major
Cézanne-scholars from across the globe. The conference theme is highly
relevant today, reflecting a recent interest in the global reaches of
modernist practice and art history's continued fascination with Paul
Cézanne's life and art.
The conference will be held over a three-day period, and an international
program committee of Cézanne-specialists has been formed, including Denis
Coutagne, Albert Kostenevich, and André Dombrowski. Speakers will present on
modernist art from 8 countries (Russia, France, Great Britain, Germany, USA,
India, Japan and Mexico). We expect that over 400 people from more than 20
countries will attend the conference.
