Junior Professorship in Art History with particular emphasis on the New
Media (non-permanent)
The Faculty of Historical Sciences is seeking to fill the above position
in the Institute of Art History (W1 on the German professorial scale) by
01 October 2010 for three years in the first instance.
The successful applicant will cover the History of Modern Art in a wide
range of media. A particular focus on the history of photography is
essential, as is the willingness to cooperate in the various research
projects of the Institute of Art History.
Applicants must have a relevant first degree and a good record in academic
teaching. They should also show a particular aptitude for research,
generally through an outstanding PhD. The ability to initiate research
projects capable of generating third-party funding is essential. The PhD
must have been awarded no more than 5 years prior to starting the Junior
Professorship; additional academic activities are considered an advantage.
