Weitere Anforderungen für die Einstellung:
Auseinandersetzung mit aktuellen kulturwissenschaftlichen und
theoretischen Diskursen, Erfahrung mit interdisziplinären
Arbeitszusammenhängen sowie der erfolgreichen Einwerbung und
Durchführung von Drittmittelprojekten. Internationale Lehr- und
Forschungserfahrung.
Erwartungen an die künftige Tätigkeit:
Bereitschaft zur Zusammenarbeit mit den anderen am Institut vertretenen
regionalen Kunstgeschichten (afrikanische, islamische, ostasiatische und
südasiatische Kunstgeschichte). Zusammenarbeit mit den ortsansässigen
Sammlungen, Museen und wissenschaftlichen Einrichtungen. Darüber hinaus
Mitarbeit in den inneruniversitären Forschungsinitiativen, besonderes
Engagement in der Lehre sowie Beteiligung an der akademischen
Selbstverwaltung.

invites applications for a tenured
Professorship in Art History of Europe and America with a Focus on
Architectural History and Theory (W2/W3)
The successful applicant will be required to cover the area named above
in teaching and research.
In accordance with article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act
(Berliner Hochschulgesetz), a Habilitation, junior professorship, or
equivalent postdoctoral qualification is required for this position.
The successful candidate is expected to have an outstanding track record
of university teaching and research on international level, and to be
well versed in historical and contemporary methods and theories of
architectural history and theory. Applicants are also required to have
experience with interdisciplinary research, as well as with acquiring
funding for, and carrying out, sponsored research.
Applicants are expected to cooperate with colleagues in art history who
specialize in either European and American or African, South or East
Asian, and Islamic Art History, as well as with colleagues from other
disciplines in the humanities, local museums, art collections and other
academic institutions. She or he will further be expected to participate
in Freie Universität Berlin's own collaborative research efforts, to
assume teaching responsibilities with dedication, and to be willing to
assume tasks concerning academic self-administration.
The language of instruction is mainly German, but some teaching may be
conducted in English. A non-German-speaking appointee will need to be
able to teach in German within a reasonable time frame.
The vacancy is a tenured position at the rank of either W2 or W3. The
level of appointment will be commensurate with the nominee's
qualifications and experience. She or he will be appointed either as a
civil servant or as a salaried employee with comparable terms and
conditions.
