The notions of placement and displacement are central aspects of research
in the history of art.
DisPLACEMENT is a one-day symposium that seeks to bring together
post-graduate students to discuss these ideas within a wider visual
culture context, encouraging new research ideas and academic exchange.
Papers explore how ideologies and methodologies of placement and
displacement may offer new approaches and perspectives within the history
of art.
Plenary addresses to be given by renowned contemporary artists Ross
Sinclair and Ilana Halperin.
DisPLACEMENT has been funded by the AHRC Collaborative Research Training
Scheme.
