Call for Papers
The Second International Heidelberg Colloquy on

East Asian Art History
July 17 - 20, 2008

Supported by the international Balzan Foundation we are going to hold
the second colloquy on East Asian art history at the University of
Heidelberg. Graduate students engaged in research for a PhD on East
Asian art history are invited to present papers about their current work
for the colloquy. This colloquy provides a forum for young researchers
to share ideas, exchange valuable experiences with other graduate
students and work towards international standards on field in East Asian
art history.

APPLICATIONS

All proposals on East Asian art history are welcome.

Please send your application via e-mail to the organiser
oakgsino.uni-heidelberg.de
with following information:
- One-page abstract (250-300 words) in English, including title of your
paper and your name
- A short CV including your full name, citizenship, contact info,
telephone, e-mail and mailing address, institution, name of PhD
supervisor, a list of publications if applicable
- Any audiovisual equipment you will need for your presentation

Deadline for the application is March 31st, 2008.
Incomplete or belated applications will not be taken into consideration.

A committee of senior academics will go through all applications and
make a selection. We will accept 15 - 16 participants from institutions
around the world for the Heidelberg colloquy.

CONFERENCE PLACE

The colloquy will take place from Thursday evening, July 17th to Sunday
afternoon, July 20th, 2008 at the Institute of East Asian Art History
in Heidelberg, Germany.

TRAVEL EXPENSES

All presenters will be granted travel expenses up to 300,- Euro
(Europe), 1300,- Euro (America), 1200,- Euro (China), 1400,- Euro
(Taiwan), 1400,- Euro (Korea) and 2000,-Euro (Japan).

HOUSING AND MEAL

We will provide all participants with housing and meals from July 17th -
21st, 2008. Please note that single rooms may be limited and some will
have to share double rooms with other participants.
