workshop for doctoral candidates (Getty Research Institute)

Katja Zelljdat

Getty Dissertation Workshop
March 15-16, 2007
Getty Research Institute, The Getty Center

Deadline: January 10, 2007

This two-day intensive workshop at the Getty Research Institute is designed
for doctoral candidates in art history who are in the midst of writing
their dissertations. The distinctive format - in which each participant
presents the project of another - provides a small group of advanced
graduate students the opportunity for intensive discussion with each other
and with two senior professors in the field. The goal of the workshop is
to stimulate new perspectives, offer constructive critique, and situate the
participants' projects in a broader art historical context.

The Getty Research Institute provides accommodations and a reimbursement of
up to $500 for travel expenses.

To apply: Please send your dissertation proposal, an update on the status
of your project, a current curriculum vitae, and a letter of
recommendation from your thesis advisor. You must have advanced to
candidacy, written at least one chapter of your dissertation, and expect
to finish after 2007.

Application materials should be sent to Sabine Schlosser, Research and
Education Department, Getty Research Institute, 1200 Getty
Center Drive, Suite 1100, Los Angeles, CA 90049.

Application materials must be received by January 10, 2007.
