The Department of Art & Art History at Stanford University seeks
applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position with
expertise in European Renaissance Art. The appointment is expected
to begin on 1 September 2007. We hope to attract a pool of scholars
with a wide range of research interests and methods. The successful
candidate will be expected to develop a cycle of core Renaissance
courses in both Mediterranean and Northern European art and
architecture for our undergraduate majors, and to offer
graduate-level courses and seminars related to his or her research
interests. Recent recipients of the Ph.D. are invited to apply, but
we are especially interested in candidates with a record of one to
three years of successful teaching at the university level. The
ideal candidate would also bring to Stanford evidence of scholarly
promise and a program of future research that should attract graduate
students of the highest caliber.
