In conjunction with the exhibition Girodet: Romantic Rebel, a panel of
distinguished scholars offers fresh insights into the art of Girodet and
his times. The speakers will explore issues of empire, imperialism,
colonialism, postcolonialism, gender, and homoeroticism that reflect the
political and social developments in Girodet's art as well as our own
contemporary interpretations.
