Professorship of the History of Art
University of Oxford

The University seeks to appoint a scholar with an international reputation
and an outstanding research and publication record to its chair in the
History of Art. Applications are welcome from those active in research in
all areas and periods of the History of Art, including non-Western art.
The professorship is tenable from 1 October 2007. A non-stipendiary
fellowship at Trinity College is attached to the professorship. The
Professor will be critical to the future development and success of the
subject at Oxford, where it is undergoing unprecedented expansion. The
person appointed will be expected to assume a leadership role immediately,
in research, teaching and administration. He or she will be able to judge
the direction in which Art History is moving nationally and
internationally and to place Oxford at the forefront of that process.

Faculty of Performance, Visual Arts and Communications
University of Leeds

We seek seven individuals to help put our Faculty of Performance, Visual
Arts and Communications at the forefront of research in the UK by 2008.
The Faculty is currently undergoing a period of substantial investment in
its infrastructure and staff, to provide a cutting edge environment for
research in culture, communications and the creative arts. As a unique
configuration of disciplines and practices, the Faculty is in the vanguard

The Department of Art History wishes to make an appointment in the area of
architectural, design, or sculpture history in any period from the
Renaissance to the present day. The successful candidate will contribute
to undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and departmental administration.

Candidates should have a PhD, experience of university teaching and be
able to demonstrate evidence of a commitment to research and publication.

Salary will be within the range £28,009 - £37,643 per annum, depending on
qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £43,638 per annum,
subject to performance). This post is available from 1 February 2007.

David Gee Readership in New Media
Centre for Cultural Studies
Goldsmiths College, University of London

The Centre for Cultural Studies was launched in 1998. We now comprise some
100 postgraduate students and 10 dedicated staff. We are in receipt of
over £1m worth of research contracts. The Centre's dedicated and
associated staff are from 5, 5* and 6 rated RAE units. The Centre is a
global leader in cultural theory. We specialize in practice related MA and
PhD work and projects with practitioners in media, arts, postcolonialism,
architecture, and technology

You will have a publication record of acknowledged international
excellence, with clear ideas relating to future research and a track
record of success in gaining external funding. You will need a PhD in a
relevant area, and substantial experience in PhD supervision. You will be
involved in MA teaching, convening and development. You will have high
levels of administrative competence. You will take a lead in developing
College wide initiatives in new media.

Salary will be on the Readership Scale £40,947- £46,112 per annum all
inclusive of £2,262 per annum London Weighting Allowance.
