The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Jacobs University Bremen invites applications for a part-time position (50 %) of a

Research Associate in Art History (f/m)

Topics of research include the history and theory of 20th-century art with a particular focus on artist networks. The position allows for independent research and the opportunity to pursue an PhD degree, but the successful applicant will be expected to participate in collaborative research, support ongoing DAAD, DFG, and EU research projects, assist in project management, fund raising, and third-party funding applications, and contribute to the organization of conferences and educational programs.

The successful applicant will hold a Masters degree or equivalent in art history. S/he will be responsible, self-motivated, and enjoy working in an international academic environment. In addition to excellent writing and presentation skills, organization and management skills and experience in project management are essential. Fluency in English and German and good working knowledge of a third language is expected. Understanding of information and communication technologies will be an additional plus.

The position will be based on a fixed-term contract that will run for 2 years, the anticipated starting date is September 1, 2012.
