ART HISTORIAN, Contemporary art & Media Theory/criticism

The Centre for Visual and Media Culture (CVMC) at the University of Toronto
at Mississauga, University of Toronto invites applications for a
tenure-stream position in Contemporary Art and Media Theory and Criticism,
at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2006. The CVMC is part
of UTM¹s interdisciplinary Institute of Communication and Culture. The
successful candidate will teach and supervise graduate students in the
Graduate Department of Fine Art, and teach undergraduate courses in
contemporary art, architecture, and visual culture in the CVMC programs.
Candidates should demonstrate excellence in scholarship and the potential to
be excellent teachers, and have a Ph.D. in hand before July 1, 2006. The
starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The faculty of the University of Toronto Graduate Department of Fine Art
faculty is composed of all art history faculty appointed to the St. George,
Mississauga, and Scarborough campuses. Faculty members carry out their
undergraduate duties at the campus to which they are appointed; graduate
teaching and supervision typically take place on the St. George campus. For
