History of Art Tutor
The Art Trail: London Galleries & Museums

Thursdays 13:00-15.00. Starting 12th January 2006.

The post is for two terms, to be reviewed at the end of this period.

The emphasis is on looking at art in variety of locations around London.
Each term begins at the Centre.

This is an adult education course, which caters for a range of levels of
experience. Some students will be returning learners. Students may enrol
separately for each term.

The group will meet once on the first day of the term at the Centre.

The current rate of pay is £24.57 for those with a teaching qualification.

Based in Fine Art, part of the School of Arts & Cultures, you will have a
primary role in the teaching of art history to first year Fine Art and
Combined Honours BA students. You will have a lively, innovative approach to
the teaching of Preliminary Studies in Art History (for further details, see
below) and a readiness to work with others, in the co-ordination and
programming of this module. You will also be required to act as dissertation
tutor to a number of third-year students and to undertake administrative
duties connected with the running of the Fine Art degree programme. You
should be sympathetic to the teaching of art history to students involved in
the practice of Fine Art and be able to demonstrate an awareness of
contemporary critical issues in this subject. The post is tenable from
January 2006 to 30 June 2006.
