CALL FOR PAPERS

Convivium 2005:

Children of Abraham: Christians, Jews and Muslims
in the Middle Ages and Early Modern Era

Convivium: Siena Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies,
announces its sixth annual multidisciplinary conference, to be held
October 7-8th, 2005.

We are interested in papers of all aspects of religious diversity in
the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Era, across all academic
disciplines. Possible subjects include: interactions between members
of the three Abrahamic religions; artistic representations of
religious diversity; travel narratives; laws, social codes, rituals,
or liturgies; Crusade and/or Diaspora; manuscripts and textual
transmission; science and religion; women religious and secular;
literary cross-fertilization; sacred architecture. We are interested
in any topic related to our main subject.
NOTE: This year we will sponsor a session or two featuring excellent
undergraduate papers. If you have student papers you would like to
submit, please contact me as well.
