Research Associate

'40,000 Years of Modern Art'
School of Art and Design

£20,235 ­ £29,715 per annum
Fixed term for 12 months

Loughborough University School of Art and Design is seeking to appoint a
post-doctoral Research Associate to work with Professor Colin Rhodes on an
AHRB funded project, '40,000 Years of Modern Art'. Experience of archival
work and ability to work with efficiency and accuracy are essential.
Candidates will be expected to have a PhD or equivalent in Art History or a
related discipline and have previous research experience in a relevant
field.

Part-time Visiting Lecturer

Contemporary Art
Department of Education and Lifelong Learning

The Department of Education and Lifelong Learning has a vacancy for a
part-time lecturer to teach the short evening course Contemporary art at
Tate Modern, which will take place in the Autumn term 2005‹06 from the week
of 3 October. The course consists of 10 x 2 hours sessions once a week and
includes sessions in the gallery. This is an introductory course, an
overview of contemporary art based on Tate Modern¹s permanent collections.

comprises the disciplines of Archaeology, Art History and Visual Studies,
Classics and Ancient History, Drama, English and American Studies, History,
Music and Religions and Theology.

The successful candidate will foster synergies between the thriving research
communities in Art History and Visual Studies, and Drama/Screen Studies as
well more widely within the new School . He or she will have an established
international reputation in any of the following areas: theatre; performance
art; film and television studies; modern or contemporary visual studies or
art history; screen and new media studies; digital arts. Preference will be
given to scholars whose research and teaching extends across two or more of
these areas.
