The Middle Ages in Sixteenth-Century France (book)

Call for contributions

You are invited to submit a proposal for a book project entitled "The
Middle Ages in Sixteenth-Century France". These essays aim to show the
re-used or the presence of medieval elements in the fields of literature,
arts and music in the 16th century. The geographical area will be
restricted to France, but can deal with both French or foreign medieval
writers/artists/musicians/influences. As this book will be
interdisciplinary in nature, contributors from different fields are
welcome. The topics which can be studied are (other suggestions are
possible) :

1. Medieval influences in 16th-Century texts (topics, ideas, etc)
2. Rewriting-Adaptation of medieval texts
3. The reception of medieval writers/artists/musicians
4. Medieval influences/adaptations/re-used in Arts
5. Medieval influences/adaptations/re-used in Music

These essays will be in English. If you are interested in this project,
please send your proposal (title, abstract of no more than 150 words, and
a small résumé), quoting the number corresponding to section topics it
